Everyone gets some level of plaque and tartar buildup in spite of your best efforts at home. But when you come in for your six month checkup, we can make your professional teeth cleaning more comfortable than ever with our newfangled ultrasonic scaler. This cleaning device is more pleasant than hand cleaning as it vibrates (rather than scrapes) to clean your teeth! In fact, the non-invasive tip is the only part that touches your teeth.
At one time or another most people experience a cavity. If caught early enough, it isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme. We can easily restore your smile with a dental filling. But if you’ve ever had an old-school dental filling, you are likely reminded every time you open your mouth and see that ugly metallic splotch sitting on top of your tooth. You might also be concerned about your exposure to the potentially dangerous mercury it contains, especially if it’s wearing out or cracking and allowing the metal to seep into your body.
The good news is that times have changed at our dental office! That’s why we offer tooth-colored fillings instead of the mercury-based type. These are made of materials that are compatible with your body, so they are safer than mercury. They also bind right to the tooth, so we don’t have to remove any of your enamel like the old-fashioned silver amalgam fillings would necessitate.
In the olden days, the dentist’s office was a scary place. It is not that way any more. Still, to ease your fears and help you relax we now offer sedation dentistry in three forms: oral sedation (a pill), IV sedation (injection), and nitrous oxide (gas inhaled through a mask).
Sedation can help alleviate anxiety but it is also good for: controlling gag reflexes, folks who have trouble sitting still, and for patients receiving procedures that might otherwise be uncomfortable.
As it happens, we are one of the few clinics in this region that has a Sirona 3D scanner!
What difference does that make? This allows us to get clean, accurate 3D images of your head and neck to be able to better diagnose and treat your issues before they turn into bigger (more costly) problems for you!
Plus, the Sirona 3D scanner protects you from exposure to too much radiation. This scanner puts out 95 percent less radiation than a standard CAT scan!
Step Into The Future Of Dentistry!
We hope you have been encouraged by today’s post. The aforementioned features are just a few of the ways we have invested in technology to make your experience better. Contact us at Clear Lake Dental Care to learn more and get started!
