Invisalign: Radically Different Than Braces

Hello and welcome back to the blog!

We hope that you are adapting to the busy schedule that Fall inevitably brings. And we also hope that you are keeping your smile (and related oral health needs) top of mind. If you have any nagging concerns, NOW is the time to bring them to us!

Today, we are reaching out to adults in the Webster, TX area living with crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth.

Even though popular culture reminds us that the time for wearing braces is during your teenage years, you don’t have to put up with a sore jaw, discomfort when chewing, or a less-than-perfect smile if you are at an older and wiser point in life.

All it takes for those kind of issues to be resolved is to have a well-trained and decidedly dynamic dentist on your side (like our own Dr. Das). That’s because the alignment of your teeth must be addressed. But not necessarily with braces. We actually have an easier way for you to solve your orthodontic problems: Invisalign.

Invisalign is radically different than anything that has come before in the world of “braces.” You could hardly call this system braces, in fact. Keep reading to see why we love Invisalign, and then be sure to follow up and schedule your consultation with Dr. Das and the Clear Lake Dental Care team!

Discreet By Design

Unlike braces, Invisalign utilizes clear plastic aligners to make the magic happen for you. To kickstart the process, our team uses the latest technology to determine the correct shape of Invisalign gear for you. Your goals for smile improvements will be translated into a series of finely calibrated invisible aligners.

Since they are clear that means your treatment won’t draw any rude comments or awkward questions from your peers. It also won’t feel weird in your mouth, cause any pain, or make you bleed. How does that grab you?!

A Pleasant Program

You are probably already impressed, right? But wait, it gets better. With Invisalign, you won’t have to request time off of work every month of your treatment. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign won’t require any in-office tune-ups to keep things on schedule. You will simply trade out your aligners every two weeks for the next appropriate set in the series. This is something you do on your own at home.

Since the hardware is not meant to be permanent, you won’t have to be saddled with the same gear for 2-3 years. And you can actually take your aligners out whenever it makes sense to do so.

While using Invisalign you won’t have to give up the foods you love to eat just to get a better smile. To clean your appliances, you can just pop your aligners out and run them under lukewarm water, and continue brushing your teeth twice a day like always.

Full disclosure: you will have to wear your aligners for most of each day along the way. But that’s not asking too much, now is it?

Cuts The Treatment Time In Half

If you would rather not drag the orthodontic treatment process out, Invisalign is probably a good choice for you. You will love that the Invisalign program can be completed in a matter months (usually about 12) rather than having several years (normally 2-3) of waiting around.

Plus, the resulting smile will blow you away!
