How To Make Sure You Get The Most From Your Invisalign
If wearing a mouth full of metal braces doesn’t sound like your golden ticket to the cool club, then Invisalign may be the best bet for you. Even though traditional metal braces are a great way to straighten misaligned teeth, they can also make you feel a little self-conscious. With Invisalign, most patients can get straighter teeth without the nuisance of having to deal with wires and brackets. To make sure you get the most out of your Invisalign, we have created a brief guide.
Unfortunately, we can’t babysit you and make sure you wear your Invisalign trays. If you want to get straighter teeth in the fastest way possible, make sure that you are wearing your trays for at least 20-22 hours a day. As soon as you’re done eating and have brushed your teeth, put your trays back in. And, don’t forget to wear them when you’re sleeping.
Brush And Floss!
If you have food and plaque on your teeth and you put your aligners in, you are only putting your teeth at a risk of getting cavities. Plus, if you have food trapped in between your teeth, your aligners aren’t going to be able to work as well. Make sure that you brush and floss your teeth after every meal. If you are out in public and don’t have access to your toothbrush, make sure to rinse your mouth with water several times.
Switch Them Out!
Most Invisalign systems are designed for patients to swap out their aligners every two weeks. Make sure that you don’t forget to switch them out. As a tip, set a calendar reminder in your phone.
Getting the most out of your Invisalign aligners doesn’t have to be difficult. By following these three basic tips, you can hopefully get straighter teeth in a shorter amount of time. To learn more about Invisalign, contact us online or at our Webster office and call us at (832) 479-4676.
