- Posted on: Sep 30 2019
Having something healthy to snack on during the day can help you avoid making bad dieting decisions when hunger strikes. Not only can eating healthy snacks prevent you from gaining extra weight, but it can also save your mouth from cavities. Let’s take a closer look at a few healthy snacks for you to munch on at work or when you’re out and about.
Cheese Sticks
If you tend to have problems with your blood sugar in the middle of the day, then you need more protein in your diet. Protein is also a great way for you to build muscles and get rid of fat. Try picking up some low-fat cheese sticks. Cheese sticks contain a lot of calcium, which is one of the best ways to build healthy, healthy teeth.
Nuts and Seeds
Another protein-packed snack that you should add to your list is raw nuts and seeds; especially if you are a coffee drinker. Because coffee contains a lot of citric acid, it’s known for staining teeth and weakening the enamel. But, nuts and seeds contain ingredients and nutrients which help to restore the teeth’s enamel and make them stronger. Just make sure that they don’t have any sugar on them or to much salt.
Apple Slices
The last thing that most of our patients want to do is brush their teeth at work in front of all of their coworkers. But how can you get rid of mid-day plaque on your teeth? Apples. Apples aren’t only delicious to munch on, but they contain a lot of fiber which will naturally scrub your teeth in the middle of the day. In addition to eating an apple as a snack, try drinking more water too to help rinse your teeth after the apple has cleaned them.
