Sedation dentistry can make every appointment a positive experience!

Our dentists at Clear Lake Dental Care and Implant Center routinely speak to patients who have dental anxiety. Some patients will even avoid routine dental visits because of these anxieties, which can be detrimental to their oral health and wellness. This is why our Webster, TX area practice is pleased to provide solutions for patients including sedation dentistry.
What is sedation dentistry?
Drs. Piyuse Das, An Pham, and Grisel Acevedo Rivera are dentists at Clear Lake Dental Care and Implant Center who describes sedation dentistry as a method of relaxing patients before and during their dental appointment for a positive experience each and every time! Sedation dentistry solutions available at our practice include:
- Nitrous oxide – nitrous oxide is an odorless gas that is administered through a mask over the nose to instantly relax a patient with mild to moderate dental anxiety.
- Oral conscious sedation – using an oral medication taken prior to arriving at the office, patients can be awake and coherent but have little recollection of their dental appointment hours after their treatments.
- IV sedation – patients with severe dental anxieties will often benefit from IV sedation where sedation medications is administered directly into the blood stream.
Which sedation is right for me?
It is important that patients choose a sedation method that works with their specific anxieties. Patients with mild anxieties may benefit form nitrous oxide, while more agitated or anxious patients may find IV sedation to be a better fit to help them relax in the dental chair. Our dentists encourage patients to be open and honest about their level of anxiety prior to dental treatments to help them determine a sedation method most appropriate for that individual.
